The Functional Skills – English course is designed to equip learners with the essential skills and confidence needed to excel in their chosen careers or further training. Course structure
The course is conducted in-person in Liverpool and spans 7 weeks, with sessions held twice a week. Each session is carefully structured to cover key aspects of English language skills:
- Reading: Understanding different types of texts and extracting relevant information.
- Writing: Developing proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling to create effective written documents.
- Speaking and Listening: Engaging in conversations, presenting ideas clearly, and understanding spoken information.
Assessment
At the end of the course, learners will undertake a reading and writing exam. Successful completion of these assessments will earn participants the City and Guilds Level 1 or Level 2 Functional Skills qualification in English.
